Create wavy text with CSS →
CSS3Warp is a proof of concept: create Illustrator like “warped” text (text following an irregular path) with pure CSS and HTML.
How does it work?
CSS3 brings new text-transform options: rotation, skew, matrix, transform-origin… By applying the right transformations to every single letter it is possible to create the illusion of text following a path.
Type your text into the...

Wordpress Plugin: One Click Close Comments →
I like this one alot. It conveniently close or open comments for a post or page with one click.
From the admin listing of posts (‘Edit Posts’) and pages (‘Edit Pages’), a user can close or open comments to any posts to which they have sufficient privileges to make such changes (essentially admins and post authors for their own posts). This is done via an AJAX-powered...

Wordpress Plugin: Comment Rating →
Comment Rating makes “user moderated content” possible. This plugin automatically embeds clickable images in comments using simple AJAX javascript (no heavy jQuery) to allow visitors rate comments in Like vs. Dislike fashion. The votes are displayed along with the comments in either two numbers, one combined, or both.
Once the user ratings are in place, the comments can be...

40 FREE Wordpress templates →
There are many different templates available, but these are pretty great 3 column ones.
My advice on picking a template is not to look at the color or the images, but instead looking at the skeleton. This is what is already preset for you. The images and the colors can be relatively easily replaced.

I had posted a link to MailChimp previously. These guys boast to be cheaper. They even provide a price comparison chart with several other mail campaign services. They do NOT have a free option, but they do have a 30 day free trial available.
They provide customizable templates and a bunch of statistics to keep track of things. Plans start at $10/mo, which is not too outrageous. Prices depend on...

Ustream - Stream your event live →
New service that has hit the web today. For those that have a real budget and a real income from their performances or live presentations this might be an interesting option to look at. Paying several thousand dollars to Ustream can get the user live coverage over the web.
I personally feel that the price is quite inhibiting. If it was lower I’d be more excited about this. For now though...

Another interesting beta to watch out for. The company offers to provide “a fully integrated feed that lets you monitor, and respond to, comments and reviews left across the web. With Yext Rep, you get a complete social media and reputation monitoring solution, for free.”
There is even an option to have the feed display on the phone. Monitoring on the feedback on the go as well.
AppMkr - make your own iPhone app →
Now you can make your blog into an iPhone app. Looks like a pretty cool idea. I tried messing with it a little. There is a fee for getting into the iPhone store, which basically means that you should do this only if you really mean business and think that this will bring back significant traffic and therefore additional income.
My other finding is that it does not seem to be playing too nice...
